Between river and ridge
The Beas on one side, the deodar slopes on the other. Windows on both, so the weather decides your seat.

A Place In Between
Between the river and the ridge. Between the plains and the snowline. A wood-fired kitchen and a proper coffee bar, for the hours you spend waiting on weather — or not waiting at all.

The name
Darmiyana — दरमियाना / درمیانہ — is the middle ground. Not this, not that; the space where the two meet. In Kullu the word fits the map as much as the mood.
Down the road the valley is orchards and river. Up the road it is deodar and snow. We are the table in the middle — where a trekker and a family on holiday end up ordering the same thing.

02
Siddu and chana madra beside wood-fired margherita. Local trout beside a proper flat white.
03
A place to eat before a pass, and to sit out a rain day with a book and a second pot of coffee.
The room
Pine, slate and wool. Deep chairs for the people who came to talk, a long oak table for the ones who came to work, and a corner that takes twenty without anyone shouting.
From the kitchen
The full card — coffee, breakfast, pizza, Himachali plates, mains and dessert — is on the menu page.
Our way
“Every table is a darmiyana — a small middle ground two people agree to meet in.”

When to come
The Kullu valley changes completely four times a year, and so does the room. Here is what each one actually feels like.
Mar – Jun
The valley at its greenest. Apple and plum blossom, warm days, cool evenings, the terrace open every night.
Open 09:00 – 22:00 · terraceJul – Sep
Heavy rain and real landslide risk on the highway. Quieter, misty, and honestly beautiful if you are already here.

Post-monsoon clarity. Sharpest mountain views of the year, cold mornings, fires lit from breakfast.
Peak season · book aheadDec – Feb
Snowfall through the valley, both fires going, hot chocolate and ragi porridge doing the heavy lifting.

We are still fitting out. Photographs of the room, the plates and the first snow will land here — these frames are reserved for them.
